• As if performances of Leonore weren’t rare enough, this one has the added distinction of being in English.
• Pauline Tinsley brings enormous heft to the title role, and relishes the coloratura passages which didn’t make it into Beethoven’s final cut.
• Norman Bailey is excellent as Pizzaro as is Don Garrard as Rocco.
• A young Robert Lloyd makes cameos as Don Fernando and the second prisoner.
