• Gustav Neidlinger (of Alberich fame) gets a chance to display his prodigious skills as a singer as well as his legendary acting skills in Wagner’s most daunting role for baritone, Hans Sachs.
• Elisabeth Grümmer is near perfectly cast as Eva, bringing purity of tone and superlative musicality to the part.
• Walter Geisler’s sweet yet robust tenor is also well cast as Walter.
• Gerhard Stolze almost steals the show as David.
