- Karl Ridderbusch returns to the green hill in one of his greatest roles, Hans Sachs. In the role of Hans Sachs, Ridderbusch had no peers. He is in a very small class of baritones who was able to bring warmth and beauty to the part without ever tiring.
- Marita Napier is a welcome addition. Her Eva has a little more heft to it than most, but still brims with youthful exuberance.
- Jean Cox brings sweetness of tone to the role of Walther.
